Ugh, why can't anything ever just go right?

Things were finally getting back to normal after the hurricane.  I actually had work yesterday, which was good because I Really need the money.  Then we get hit by Athena, who dumps an insane amount of snow on the place.

And knocks out my power.

I woke up at, well I'm not really sure because my clock was off.  My power was gone again.  Further, the inside temperature was very low (I keep it turned down in the winter when I sleep, no use heating the place when I'm gonna curl up under the blankets anyway.  Go ahead, I know you are imagining being the one to keep me warm instead...) I do have a fireplace, but I have a special get together planned when I want to have all of my friends come together and light the first fire at my new home together.  Fortunately, my power is back on, not even twenty four hours later, but I was pretty worried for a while.  I know people who are still without power from the hurricane, so who knows how long it could be.  I'm lucky I'm tied to a major line, if I don't have power neither does the highway.  I actually left and went to the mall and spent a couple hours just wandering around simply to get warmed up a bit.  And, to amuse myself, I did so wearing some bits of my steampunk outfit, including my lovely wood and brass handled umbrella/cane.  I looked quite dashing, if I did say so myself.

Still, things have been weird lately, so posting is going to be kind of wonky for a while.  I can't promise when or if I'll be getting to any more captions.
