I recieved a message on my formspring:
"My prayers are with you..."
To whomever sent this, thank you. I appreciate that so many here are thinking of me.
I've been slowly getting things put back together. My car is running, though not without problems. My phone has been replaced. My laptop still remains unknown. Many of my books are lost, and will need to be replaced over time. Various other items are still being sorted, to see what can be salvaged and what must be replaced. Work and life goes on. I'm grateful that, despite being in the place that got damaged the worst, Talia was unscathed, needing nothing more than a good hair brushing. The items in my truck were relatively unharmed, so most of my tools are fine. My father got a bonus at work (he saved the company over a million and a half a year, so its well deserved), so they were able to help a bit.
In the meantime, I try to focus on things that are positive. I've started working on next year's cosplay, my friends and I are currently reviewing possible choices to work with. I've even been tinkering around with a new roleplaying game. Its inspired by the webcomic "weregeek". The basic premise is that the players each play as themselves, and they get powers based on what 'geekdom' they are most tied to. So for example, I would be a 'cosplay geek', and my powers would come from my cosplays. Someone else might be a video game geek, and get powers based on video games. There really isn't too much more to it than that.
So, that's pretty much where I'm at.
I'm really glad that it wasn't worse for you. Also your RPG sounds very interesting. Are you making it or did you find it?
