Weekly Comic 5/25/12

I decided to continue my weekly comic idea, at least until I see that people are not enjoying it.  Want to see more of this, or want to see it gone?  Be sure to leave me feedback.

This week's comic comes from Wapsi Square (http://wapsisquare.com/).  It's a bit rough, because I had to work on my laptop as opposed to my usual desktop.

I hope you enjoyed it, be sure to leave your thoughts.

Weekly Captioned Comic

Ok, so, as always, my mind was wandering today when I came up with a new idea.  I realize that I often go for long stretches of time with no updates on this blog.  A big part of that is due to the time and effort that goes into making new captions, as well as my fluctuating inspiration.  But it occurred to me that, if I were to keep things simple, I could do something more regularly.

Thus the creation of the Weekly Captioned Comic.  One of my hobbies is reading webcomics.  I have a huge list that I go through every day.  I've often seen pages or panels and thought, with a bit of a rewrite to the dialogue, this would be a great TG comic.  So I decided that I would give it a try.  The idea being that, once a week, I will take a panel or page from a comic and give it the Angel touch.  They may be funny, they may be serious, they may be sexual.  But the point is that there will be one every week.  That way all of my readers are guaranteed something new on a regular basis.  I even already have a collection of images and ideas to draw from.

This week's comic comes from the strip Loserz (http://loserzcomic.comicgenesis.com/d/20010814.html)

This was my first attempt at something like this, so it is a bit rough.  The editing was done using Paint.net, and I'm still experimenting with how to get things just right.  If anyone has any suggestions, or can recommend a better/easier program, please let me know.

Is this something that you would like to see more of?  Do you like my idea, not like my idea?  Please, leave me some feedback on this little experiment, so I know if it is something I should continue or just let die.  Constructive criticism is welcome, and, as I said, any technical advice would be useful for improving future comics. But please, even if it is just a "yes continue" or "no don't", leave a comment or send me a message.  It is your feedback that helps me to improve, and let's me make more of the things that you want to see.

The Jump Rope (SWI)

I've decided to do another short story with image, rather than trying to cram all of the text in to a single image.  I think that it will work better this way for longer captions, and I am considering using this method more often here on the blog.  What are your thoughts?

This is another caption that, like with the purse, was inspired by an inanimate object found in the picture.  I'm sure you'll be able to guess which one.  Story found after the jump.

My S.O. is settling in to the new job and new home.  So far seems to be really liking it.  I know I should be happy for them, but I can't help but feel like we are moving farther and farther apart.

We were going to get married.  Now I'm wondering if we are even going to stay together.

Moving Pictures? What Sorcery is this?!

So this is a little project that I've been working on for quite some time now.  I had the original idea a while back, inspired by others who have done similar projects.

This one is a bit rough and simple, as such things go, but it is my first time trying my hand at this.  I had to find and teach myself how to use several new programs, which was not a simple process.  In the end, though, I like how it turned out, considering it is a beginners effort.  Please, let me know what you think of this.  Constructive criticism is welcome, and if people enjoyed it I may try to do more in the future, now that I have a better idea of what I am doing.

*Edit* upon watching the uploaded video, I realize that the subtitles came out rather small.  You'll need to watch it in full screen mode to see them.  I'll try to go back and fix them when I can, if I can.

*Edit 2* Tried re-encoding the subtitles, then re-uploading the video.  Hopefully that will help make them more readable.

Original footage comes from the anime Fairy Tail.

Charging Up

Originally, this was supposed to be a caption.  However, the text started getting rather long, and I didn't have any other images that I could use to split it up.  I've noticed that, for some reason, when I post a longer caption on blogger, it does not post the full resolution, and the text comes out blurry.  So I decided that I would do this one as a story snippet with an image instead.

This one is loosely based on a combination of two things.  One is the anime/manga Fairy Tail (which is where the artwork originated).  The other is a story I idea I had had previously.  I took the main element of that idea and rewrote it to suit the mechanics of the new setting I was using here.  I won't say more about it right now, so as not to spoil the caption, and I may still go back and develop the original story some time in the future.

Story follows the jump.

So this entire cap was inspired by the purse on the counter.  This isn't the first time I've looked at this set, in fact I've had it for a while.  But for some reason, this time it just struck me.

Originally this was going to be a fairly small cap.  I actually started with the erotic descriptions (which for some reason came out very alliterative, but that's what I was writing so I decided to run with it).  Over time it actually started to build more and more until I ultimately had to add a second panel.  To be honest, I would have preferred keeping it to just one, I think the second image doesn't quite fit right, but I just couldn't get the text down.

But if you like this cap, be sure to say thank you to the purse.
