Weekly Captioned Comic

Ok, so, as always, my mind was wandering today when I came up with a new idea.  I realize that I often go for long stretches of time with no updates on this blog.  A big part of that is due to the time and effort that goes into making new captions, as well as my fluctuating inspiration.  But it occurred to me that, if I were to keep things simple, I could do something more regularly.

Thus the creation of the Weekly Captioned Comic.  One of my hobbies is reading webcomics.  I have a huge list that I go through every day.  I've often seen pages or panels and thought, with a bit of a rewrite to the dialogue, this would be a great TG comic.  So I decided that I would give it a try.  The idea being that, once a week, I will take a panel or page from a comic and give it the Angel touch.  They may be funny, they may be serious, they may be sexual.  But the point is that there will be one every week.  That way all of my readers are guaranteed something new on a regular basis.  I even already have a collection of images and ideas to draw from.

This week's comic comes from the strip Loserz (http://loserzcomic.comicgenesis.com/d/20010814.html)

This was my first attempt at something like this, so it is a bit rough.  The editing was done using Paint.net, and I'm still experimenting with how to get things just right.  If anyone has any suggestions, or can recommend a better/easier program, please let me know.

Is this something that you would like to see more of?  Do you like my idea, not like my idea?  Please, leave me some feedback on this little experiment, so I know if it is something I should continue or just let die.  Constructive criticism is welcome, and, as I said, any technical advice would be useful for improving future comics. But please, even if it is just a "yes continue" or "no don't", leave a comment or send me a message.  It is your feedback that helps me to improve, and let's me make more of the things that you want to see.

  1. I think this sounds like a fun idea Angel. You should certainly continue it! If you're looking for a new program, I would suggest Gimp. It's not easy, but its far better than paint.net. And there are plenty of online tutorials that should help learning its ins and outs. It has most of the power of Photoshop.

    As to this

    1. I don't know about continuing the story, since these comics are meant to be just quick ideas, a story in a few words and images. I may one day get enough inspiration to do more with it, but I can't promise. Anyone else is welcome to do so, all I ask is that 1. you let me know so I can enjoy what you come up with, and 2. just make sure you give proper credit.
