Despite my misgivings from past experiences, I was persuaded to once again try online dating.  This time signing up for some free "geek oriented" services.  After all, I'm certainly a geek, so I might as well seek out similar individuals, right?  Results have been less than encouraging.

So far, the "matches" I have been provided are nothing of the sort.  I look at the profiles and see that only at the most superficial levels are we compatible (and sometimes not even then).  I did, however, get two responses.

One was from someone making snide comments about my looks.

The other was an "I'm interested" indicator.  When I went to check the person out, I was informed by the system that they were banned for violations, meaning they were either a spammer or a scammer.

And yet people tell me that I'm pessimistic.

  1. I tried online dating once. I got a stalker out of it.

  2. You could try a site called Okcupid(also free), I'm guessing you are trying Geek2Geek, I tried that for a while with not much result.

    1. I'm already on that one, as well as several others. Results have been better only in that no one has yet to take the time to call me ugly.
